LESSON POLICYJumping H Farm strives to give everyone a wonderful farm experience both in the saddle and out. Each private lesson consists of 30 minutes of saddle time with grooming and saddling before the lesson and unsaddling and grooming after each lesson. Each group lesson consists of 50-60 minutes of saddle time plus the above grooming, saddling, and unsaddling for each lesson. If your lesson time is for example 2pm please arrive at 1:30pm (30 minutes prior) to your lesson time so that you can be ready to ride at your scheduled time. Please understand we will try our best to start your lesson at the scheduled time but sometimes when you are working with young children and horses we may run a little behind. We will make sure each student gets their time in the saddle.
Lesson Payment: We accept cash, check, credit card, Paypal, Venmo, and CashApp. You may “pay as you go” for each lesson $45.00 or you may buy a “block of 5” lessons for $200.00 and get the $25.00 discount. Lesson Scheduling: You may schedule a regular lesson time if that works best for your schedule or if needed you may schedule a time week to week. We require 24 hours to cancel or reschedule a lesson. We understand that “Life” happens sometimes and that you will need to miss the occasional lesson, however lessons are the “bread and butter” income for the farm and it’s employees so cancelling last minutes prevents us from being able to fill your time slot causing loss of income for the farm. Repeat offenders ie:(more than 1 no-show or last minute cancelation or reschedule in a 60 day period) will be charged for the lesson missed. If you choose to “pay as you go” you may be required to pay a week in advance for you lesson. If you are doing lessons by the “block” repeat offenders will have a lesson counted against the block. Lesson Dress code: Long pants and some sort of boot (ankle boot, cowboy boot, etc) with an appropriate heel are required to ride. If you do not have a pair depending on the size we will be happy to loan you what you need. We have helmets to use. You are always welcome to purchase you own helmet, but PLEASE label with your name. Many of the helmets used at the farm look the same. |
Horse Show Information and what to expect
Jumping H Farm offers showing the opportunity to students and boarders who want to show. We travel to a few shows a month in the spring, summer, and fall months. Most of the shows are geared toward beginners and amateurs who wish to show without the large cost of rated shows. We strive to keep our show fees affordable to all that want to show. If you are new to the show world we will walk you through the process when you are ready. Students are always welcome to come watch to see what showing is all about before their first show. Students are required to lesson 3 out of 4 weeks before the show.
SHOW FEES:
Trainer day fee:
$80.00 Trainer day fees (for Local shows within an hour drive of the farm)
$100.00 and up Trainer day fee (over 1 hour depends on mileage and number of students traveling to show)
Horse Show Class Fees:
$10-$30 a class depending on the show we are attending. Students using schooling horses are allowed to show in 4 classes with their horse.
For a close local fun hunter show you can expect to pay between $125.00-$150.00 total for the day. The trainer fee gets paid directly to JHF and the show fee will get paid directly to the horse show grounds.
Show Attire:
Most of the beginner shows we attend a pair of tan breeches, paddock or tall boots, and a collared polo shirt with a belt can be worn. We often have clothes/footwear that can be borrowed if show clothes cannot be purchased.
Show Prep / Show Day Expectations:
Friday before the show: All students showing must come the Friday before the show to bathe their horse before the show. They will be expected to clean the tack they will be using for the show and help to load the trailer for show day.
Show Day: All students are expected to arrive at the barn first thing on show morning (often between 5:00am-5:30am) to help feed prepare and load their horses for the show. At the show they are expected to help care for and water their mount throughout the day and stay for the entirety of the show. Once we pack up and leave everyone is expected to meet back at the farm to unload horses and equipment and put everything away.
We want the show experience to be as positive as possible for all of our students. Showing as a farm/team is very important to us as well as good sportsmanship. We are always happy to answer any questions you have. Below are some pictures of our JHF Team at various shows in the area.
